Job Overview
Right at Home is a leading provider of high-quality home care services for older people, individuals living with dementia, and other vulnerable adults within local communities. The Caregiver role focuses on delivering personalised care and support that enables Clients to remain independent and continue living safely in their own homes. Caregivers are carefully matched with Clients based on their needs, interests, and personalities to promote companionship and meaningful relationships.
The role is centred on helping Clients achieve desired outcomes, whether that involves personal care, community engagement, maintaining independence, or simply providing companionship. Full training, induction, and ongoing career development opportunities are provided, making this an excellent opportunity.
Duties
- Maintain the highest standards of care at all times.
- Follow all Right at Home policies and procedures.
- Communicate regularly with the Registered Manager and report any concerns, changes, or issues relating to Clients.
- Provide personal care support, including assistance with hygiene, appearance, and physical comfort.
- Prepare meals, drinks, and snacks to support Clients' nutrition and hydration.
- Housekeeping and cleaning
- Shopping
- Laundry
- Bill paying
- Support Clients with medication in line with their care plan and level of training received.
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, staff events, and performance reviews.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external healthcare professionals such as District Nurses.
- Follow work schedules and maintain accurate records.
- Provide emotional and social support by talking, listening, and helping Clients maintain contact with family and friends.
- Assist with safe moving and handling practices to support Clients' mobility and independence.
- Use initiative and decision-making skills appropriately while promoting best practice and professional development.
Requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to attend a 3-day training course and additional shadowing sessions.
- Good IT and mobile phone skills for digital care plans and electronic systems.
- UK/EU driving licence, access to a vehicle, and Class 1 business insurance (where applicable).
- Genuine passion for making a positive difference to the lives of others.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Flexible and positive attitude towards working patterns and business needs.
- Excellent punctuality, reliability, and commitment to achieving objectives.
