Location: Office-based, Burscough
Hours: 16 hours per week
Salary: £30,000–£35,000 FTE (depending on experience)
Reporting to: Head of Service Delivery and Company Accountant

The Role

We're looking for an experienced and organised Bookkeeper to help keep our finances running smoothly. You'll manage everything from day-to-day financial transactions to payroll, VAT returns and monthly reporting.

What You'll Be Doing

Weekly

  • Paying supplier invoices
  • Raising customer invoices
  • Chasing outstanding payments
  • Digitising receipts and records
  • Monitoring employee hours

Monthly

  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Processing payroll
  • Assessing pension eligibility
  • Submitting pension contributions
  • Filing FPS/EPS returns
  • Paying HMRC PAYE and NIC
  • Reviewing financial reports
  • Checking inventory levels

Quarterly

  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Submitting VAT online
  • Paying VAT liabilities

What We're Looking For

  • Previous bookkeeping experience, including payroll and VAT
  • Able to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills
  • Reliable, accurate and confident meeting deadlines

Interview Process

  • Initial telephone interview
  • Face-to-face interview with a member of the management team and our Company Accountant
  • Final Teams interview with the Company Director

Pay: £12,800.00-£18,600.00 per year
