Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Leeds

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team based in Leeds, working on a range of specialist fire protection projects.

This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career within the construction and fire protection sector, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of projects including passive fire protection installations, fire stopping works, refurbishment schemes, and compliance upgrades across commercial, residential, and public sector buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
  • Support the management of subcontractor packages and procurement processes
  • Help monitor project costs, valuations, and financial reporting
  • Assist with variation management and final account agreements
  • Work closely with senior QS and project teams to ensure projects remain commercially on track
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant QS role (or relevant placement/year out)
  • Degree or working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and cost management tools
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Eagerness to learn and progress within the construction industry
