About The Company

As a part of Connelly Group Holdings, the Stirling Electrical Services division provides an enhanced electrical service to domestic and commercial clients in the local Stirling and Forth Valley areas as well as across wider Central Scotland. Our team of BS7671 qualified electricians carry out fault finding, installation, maintenance, inspection and testing work with an experienced office team on hand to assist our customers from the initial enquiry stage right up to job completion and beyond.

The Role

We are actively seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our Electrical Team, based out of our Stirling office with job locations covering the Central Scotland area including Glasgow and Edinburgh and beyond.

This position plays an integral part in the delivery of great customer service to our extensive client base. As one of the local area’s busiest reactive and preventative electrical service companies, we are looking for an individual who has the correct work attitude, good customer skills and required technical ability who can work at a fast paced business.

Before commencing employment, the successful candidate will be required to complete the company employee vetting procedure.

A company vehicle will be provided and applicant must have a full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

As an Electrician within our company, you will be responsible for carrying out all electrical work (both reactive and planned. You must have essential knowledge and experience of undertaking installation work, maintenance, repairs, fault finding and testing within both domestic and commercial/industrial properties.

This role will also involve carrying out smoke alarm inspections and upgrades in line with the new Scottish Government Legislation.

All undertakings will be in line with statutory requirements, regulatory and technical standards, customer expectations and organisational procedures.

You will be required to work as part of our team, on your own and on occasions with apprentices.

Specific Duties

Your main duties will include but not be limited to:

· Installation of various types of Electrical Works, including a wide variety of small and larger projects

· Carry out Electrical Upgrades and Installations of consumer units and associated work as instructed to a satisfactory standard and to current IEE Regulations

· Preventative and Reactive Electrical Maintenance Work

· Fault-finding

· Carrying out EICR’s

· Electrical Remedial Works and Certification to BS7671

· Installation of Smoke/Heat and CO2 Alarm Installations

· Emergency Light Testing and Repairs

· Electrical Vehicle Charge Point installations

· PAT Testing

· Identify, record and report any Electrical defects found (ensuring to make safe), including details of any parts/work required to rectify

· Ensure that appropriate records are kept and necessary paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time

· Carry out work in a safe manner in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, The company’s Health & Safety Policy/Procedures and current electrical Regulations

· Ensure van stock and materials are looked after, and that any unused materials are returned to stock. Adhere to material ordering/purchasing procedures.

· Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and kept in good working order, making sure to advise the company of any defects requiring repair.

· Respond to any feedback communicated through quality control checks (audits) carried out internally or externally.

· Ensure company vehicle is maintained and kept clean as well as ensuring all required vehicle checks are carried out and any defects are reported.

· Provide technical support to fellow operatives (including apprentices), management, office team and any other associated company staff.

· Be proactive in supporting supervisors/management in achieving targets and standards

· Undertake training, as necessary to maintain high standards in the quality of work provided.

· To carry out other duties as required, within the scope of the role, to meet the needs of the Company.

Candidate Specification

Essential Skills & Qualifications

· BS7671 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations Qualification

· Must hold a valid and in date Grade Card

· Recognised Apprenticeship completed, preferably undertaken by SECTT

· At least 2-3 Years qualified electrician experience required

· Electrical Inspection and Testing qualification and/or wide testing experience

· Full Driving License required as work van will be provided

Desirable Skills

These would be beneficial but not mandatory:

· IPAF, PASMA qualification preferable although not mandatory as in-house training programme will be undertaken.

· Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, Ladder training preferable although not mandatory as in-house training programme will be undertaken.

· Scottish Building Standards Electrical Training
