Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie / Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills within a professional kitchen environment, working alongside experienced chefs. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a genuine interest in food preparation and restaurant service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards
- Assist in the organisation and management of specific sections within the kitchen
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality, presentation, and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support the team during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or needs to the head chef or supervisor
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently, including proper handling of food and equipment
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas or improvements based on customer feedback
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience with meal preparation across various cuisines is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Previous experience serving in a busy restaurant setting is advantageous
- Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications are preferred but not essential
