Mobile Vehicle Technician

Be the trusted, friendly face that keeps our customers’ fleets moving.

LOCATION

Home-based mobile role; ideally Staffordshire / South Cheshire, covering the Midlands to Cheshire

SALARY

Basic £45,000–£47,500 per annum, dependent on experience

Plus performance bonus therefore OTE £50,000-£52,500 per annum

CONTRACT

Permanent, full-time 45 hours per week

FLEET

Cars & Light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes

This is a completely new position at Asset Assured Management. You will have the freedom to help define the role, improve the mobile service and make it your own — with the backing of an experienced, collaborative operations team.

The opportunity

As our Mobile Vehicle Technician, you will travel to customer locations across the Midlands and Cheshire region to inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair a varied fleet of light commercial Ambulance vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. You will work independently day to day while staying closely connected to the operations team for planning, parts, technical guidance and customer updates.

Just as importantly, you will be the friendly face of Asset Assured Management. You will build confidence through clear communication, professional conduct and a genuine commitment to keeping vehicles safe, legal and available.

What you’ll be doing

· Carry out planned servicing, inspections, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs at customer sites.

· Identify faults accurately and complete safe, high-quality repairs within your competence and the scope of the mobile service.

· Work across a fleet of light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, including vehicles fitted with specialist equipment.

· Complete vehicle safety checks and escalate defects, delays or additional work promptly.

· Keep customers informed in plain language, explaining findings, next steps and likely timescales.

· Maintain accurate digital job records, parts information and supporting documentation.

· Identify and order the correct parts, coordinating deliveries, returns and availability so work can be completed efficiently.

· Plan your workload and travel effectively with the operations team, helping to minimise vehicle-off-road time.

· Manage van stock responsibly, maintaining appropriate parts and consumables, completing regular stock checks and highlighting replenishment needs.

· Look after your tools, equipment and working area, following all health, safety and environmental requirements.

· Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner and provide to office-based colleagues

What we’re looking for

You will be a capable technician who is as comfortable with customers as you are with vehicles. You take ownership, solve problems calmly and represent the business with warmth and professionalism.

· Technical experience: Proven experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing light vehicles or light commercial vehicles.

· Qualification: NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or an equivalent qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair is preferred; strong equivalent experience will also be considered.

· Driving licence: A full UK driving licence is essential.

· Independence: Confidence working on your own initiative across different customer locations and managing a mobile workload.

· Customer care: Clear, respectful communication and a track record of providing a high standard of service.

· Judgement: A safety-first approach, good diagnostic ability and the confidence to know when to seek support or escalate.

· Digital skills: Comfort using a tablet, email and job-management systems to record work accurately.

· Flexibility: Willingness to travel throughout the operating area and work outdoors at customer sites.

Experience with specialist vehicle equipment, emergency-service fleets or mobile maintenance would be useful, but it is not essential. Training on specialist equipment will be provided.
