Full job description

We are looking for a friendly, organised and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist / Veterinary Care Assistant to join our busy practice.

This varied role involves helping to cover Reception and being part of our front-of-house team, while also providing a helping hand to our clinical team out back. It is ideal for someone who enjoys client care, animal handling and working as part of a supportive veterinary environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcoming clients and their pets in a warm, professional and reassuring manner.
  • Managing appointment bookings, telephone enquiries, client communications and general reception administration.
  • Supporting clear communication between clients, vets, nurses and the wider practice team.
  • Assisting with patient handling, preparation and general animal care as part of the VCA element of the role.
  • Helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and infection control across the practice.
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of both the clinical and front-of-house areas.
