Full job description

NxGen is Sky Creative’s AI-first hybrid studio, built to redefine how creative work is imagined, produced, and delivered. By combining world-class talent with intelligent systems, scalable infrastructure, and agile production models, we enable teams to move faster, collaborate smarter, and unlock greater creative freedom. More than a studio, NxGen represents a new approach to modern content creation — driven by innovation, experimentation, and adaptability.

We are looking for an exceptional Senior VFX AI Hybrid Artist to join our NxGen team, helping to shape the next generation of creative production workflows and visual storytelling.

This role sits at the intersection of traditional VFX craftsmanship and emerging AI- production workflows. While deeply connected to the studio’s creative ideation and visual development teams, the primary focus of this role is the technical and creative execution of high-quality final imagery and motion content.

You will work closely with creative technologists, AI ideation and development team compositors and production teams to ensure visual ideas transition smoothly from concept into achievable, production-ready outputs. This role requires a highly technical and detail-oriented artist with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent compositing sensibilities, and a deep understanding of both traditional and AI-assisted workflows.

The ideal candidate understands how to leverage the right tools at the right stage of production — balancing quality, consistency, efficiency, and creative intent across complex hybrid workflows.

What you'll do

AI-Assisted Shot Execution

  • Execute high-quality visual content using a combination of AI-driven and traditional VFX workflows.
  • Work across shot execution, refinement, cleanup, enhancement, iteration, and final delivery processes.
  • Utilize the full range of tools available within the studio pipeline to achieve the highest possible visual quality and consistency.
  • Help establish practical, scalable workflows for integrating AI-generated elements into production-ready outputs.

Technical Problem Solving & Workflow Development

  • Solve complex creative and technical challenges across hybrid production workflows.
  • Identify the most appropriate tools, methodologies, and workflows for achieving creative goals efficiently and reliably.
  • Work closely with compositing teams to maintain continuity, realism, technical consistency, and visual polish across sequences and campaigns.
  • Contribute toward workflow optimization, automation opportunities, and production efficiencies.

Creative-to-Execution Integration

  • Collaborate closely with ideation and visual development teams to ensure a seamless transition from concept through execution.
  • Help evaluate whether concepts are achievable within technical and timeline, and budgetary constraints.
  • Advise on appropriate tooling and execution approaches during development phases to help maintain production viability.
  • Ensure visual intent established during ideation is preserved throughout the execution pipeline.

Compositing, CG & Technical Collaboration

  • Work closely alongside the compositing team to integrate AI-generated outputs into broader VFX pipelines.
  • Apply strong compositing fundamentals including lighting integration, perspective, realism, layering, colour matching, and image continuity.
  • Utilize CG knowledge to improve controllability, consistency, and accuracy of AI-assisted workflows.
  • Support workflows involving camera data, scene reconstruction, render passes, layout systems, and environment continuity where applicable.

AI Workflow Innovation

  • Maintain strong awareness of current and emerging AI image/video generation tools and their production applications.
  • Build and refine controllable workflows using node-based systems such as ComfyUI, Flora, Weavy, and similar platforms.
  • Understand the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of different AI models and workflows within commercial production environments.

Pipeline & Technical Innovation

  • Work closely with the in-house AI Creative Technologist to road test newly developed workflow tools, helping ensure practical usability, creative flexibility, and successful integration into real-world production pipelines.
  • Collaborate with technical and pipeline teams to improve scalability, efficiency, and reliability of hybrid workflows.
  • Where applicable, support integrations with AI infrastructure platforms and tool aggregators such as FAL, Runware, or similar services.

R&D & Knowledge Sharing

  • Proactively explore new tools, workflows, and emerging technologies through ongoing R&D.
  • Share learnings, discoveries, and workflow improvements with the wider team.
  • Help upskill colleagues and contribute toward evolving studio-wide hybrid production capabilities.

AI Ethics & Responsible Use

  • Maintain awareness of evolving AI ethics, copyright considerations, legal concerns, and responsible usage practices.
  • Apply diligence and critical thinking when working on high-profile commercial campaigns and client-sensitive content.
  • Help contribute toward responsible AI usage standards and governance within the studio.

What you'll bring

  • Professional experience within high-end VFX, compositing, CG, post-production, or related creative production environments.
  • Strong understanding of compositing workflows, shot finishing, and visual continuity.
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of AI image and video generation tools and hybrid production workflows.
  • Experience with node-based workflow systems such as ComfyUI, Flora, Weavy, or equivalent.
  • Strong eye for composition, lighting, realism, colour, and image integration.
  • Understanding of production scalability, execution complexity, and workflow optimization.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly within cross-disciplinary production teams.
  • Familiarity with Cinema 4D, Houdini, or other CG software packages is highly desirable.
  • Coding or scripting experience is a bonus, particularly in Python, workflow automation, APIs, or AI infrastructure integration.
  • Passion for experimentation, innovation, and evolving production methodologies.
