Full job description

West Coast MEP are looking for an experienced Plumbing Working Foreman to join the company.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Plumbing Working Foreman to lead our mechanical team across a range of residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and carrying out plumbing and mechanical installations whilst managing site operatives, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced plumber looking to take the next step within a growing MEP contractor.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and mechanical systems in line with project requirements and safety regulations.
  • Manage and coordinate site teams of 8–15 operatives and subcontractors.
  • Organise daily site activities and ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme requirements.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Main Contractors, suppliers, and other trades.
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure installations are completed as designed.
  • Order materials and manage site deliveries to maintain programme deadlines.
  • Assist with testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and maintain high standards of health and safety on site.
  • Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure all works meet company and client expectations.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and mentoring to apprentices and junior operatives.
  • Maintain accurate site records and report progress to management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience within the plumbing and mechanical services industry.
  • Previous experience as a Working Foreman, Supervisor, or Lead Plumber.
  • Proven experience managing teams of 8–15 operatives.
  • Experience working on residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing and mechanical building services installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and lead by example.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Essential Qualifications:

  • CSCS Card
  • SSSTS Certificate
