Full job description

Help shape the medical content healthcare professionals choose to engage with

Touch Medical Media is looking for an experienced Senior Editor with a background in healthcare to take editorial ownership of several of our therapy area platforms and help shape the content we create for healthcare professionals around the world.

This is more than a traditional editing role. You'll become immersed in your therapy areas, identifying the clinical developments, emerging evidence, new treatments and conversations that matter to healthcare professionals. You'll turn those insights into a compelling editorial programme by commissioning peer-reviewed articles, conducting expert interviews, producing conference coverage, and creating news and other short content across written, video and digital formats.

You'll work directly with leading international clinicians and our Editors-in-Chief and Editorial Boards, attend major medical congresses, and have significant autonomy in determining what we cover and how we cover it.

We're also evolving how we create and deliver medical content, including using AI and audience insights to make our editorial operation faster, smarter and more responsive while maintaining rigorous editorial standards.

What you'll do

You’ll take ownership of several therapy area platforms to:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the clinical landscape, emerging evidence, treatment developments and pharmaceutical pipeline.
  • Identify the topics and unmet educational needs that should shape our editorial coverage.
  • Build and manage a forward-looking content pipeline across your therapy areas.
  • Commission articles with leading clinical experts for our peer-reviewed journals.
  • Maintain high editorial and publication standards, including adherence to relevant ICMJE, COPE and GPP guidance.
  • Develop timely short-form articles, and expert interviews around important clinical developments.
  • Plan and deliver editorial coverage from major international medical congresses, including interviewing leading clinicians and recording video content.
  • Build strong relationships with Editors-in-Chief, Editorial Board members and other international clinical experts.
  • Help develop and strengthen our Editorial Boards.
  • Work across written, video and other digital content formats, ensuring content is accurate, engaging and valuable to busy healthcare professionals.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to support research, editorial workflows and content development.
  • Use audience and engagement data plus insights from key opinion leaders and our faculty to understand what resonates with HCPs and help inform future content strategy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider Touch Medical Media Group, including our independent medical education teams, to share clinical expertise and identify opportunities to address educational needs

What we’re looking for

We're particularly interested in people who combine strong medical/scientific editorial skills with a genuine interest in developments in medicine and improving patient care, plus the confidence to build relationships with senior clinical experts.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience in either medical editing, medical communications, scientific publishing or a closely related environment.
  • Excellent written English and the ability to understand and communicate complex scientific and medical information.
  • A strong understanding of medical/scientific publishing and editorial standards.
  • The confidence to build relationships with clinicians, authors and other external experts.
  • Strong commissioning, organisational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple content streams and deadlines.
  • Genuine curiosity about medicine, new treatments and developments in healthcare.
  • An interest in using AI and new technologies responsibly to improve editorial workflows and content experiences.

A degree in a life-science or related discipline would be valuable, but we are equally interested in candidates who have developed strong scientific and medical expertise through their professional editorial career.

Experience in medical education, medical communications, pharmaceutical publishing, congress coverage, video content or working directly with KOLs would be particularly useful.
