Job Title: PROVISION CO-ORDINATOR

Job Overview: SEN Team Leader (SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant equivalent) - Alternative Provision - Coordinating Video Production Training for 7 to 17 year olds

Location: Taunton, Somerset

Terms: 40hrs per week

Benefits: Pension plan / Reduced school holiday hours / Part remote work

About Us: Tubers Academy is a digital creators academy and creative space for young people with additional needs, aged 7-17. We are a forward thinking, progressive company looking for dynamic teachers and creatives to assist in enabling young learners to express themselves digitally.

Our Alternative Provision facility provides 1:1 and small group delivery of our digital production curriculum and structured gaming to SEN children out of, transitioning or struggling within the school environment.

Services include: Alternative Provision / Mobile Learning & Gaming Centre

About the Role: Responsible for heading a small team of mentors and managing curriculum delivery & individual child SEN development programs within an Alternative Provision setting. May be required to deliver or support across all services outlined above.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing mentor team, curriculum delivery, child progression and reporting.
  • Establishing individual term and session plans.
  • Monitoring learner progress and targets.
  • Delivering direct learner training.
  • Liaising with local schools, authorities and other involved organisations.
  • Working closely with parents, guardians and support workers.
  • Centre management during Alternative Provision sessions.
  • Working closely with management to ensure service standards and development.

Candidate Requirements:

A dedicated, committed team leader with a strong work ethic and the ability to motivate and direct mentors to a high delivery standard. An engaging individual capable of supporting, guiding and inspiring young people with additional needs. A patient and empathetic personality with a passion for working with children who face difficulties in education and confidence in dealing with challenging behaviours.

  • Experience of working with children with SEN requirements. (E)
  • Experience of working with children with autism / PDA / ADHD / anxiety. (E)
  • Understanding of EHCP and professional child assessments. (E)
  • Ability to structure and implement child-led plans, targets and aims. (E)
  • Ability to understand the scope of individual learner specific requirements. (E)
  • Confidence to positively resolve issues with learners, families and team members. (E)
  • Experience managing or supervising a small team. (E)
  • Experience working with camera equipment and video production platforms. (D)
  • Knowledge of video games and internet culture. (E)
  • Flexibility to work overtime and cover shifts when required. (E)
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant experience. (D)

Required Skills

  • Confident IT skills, experience using both Mac OSX and Windows. (E)
  • Strong reporting and admin skills. (E)
  • Ability to use design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. (D)
  • Knowledge of editing software including Final Cut Pro X. (D)

Provided Training:

  • IT systems, hardware and software used within the Academy / AP setting.
  • Basic video production, video editing, media and tech training.
  • Service Policies and Procedures.
  • Paediatric First Aid training.
  • Child protection training.
  • Safeguarding training.
  • Autism awareness training.
  • Training in de-escalation techniques & strategies for behaviours that cause concern.
  • Continuous CPD and training as agreed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £24,640.00-£25,625.00 per year
