This exciting role is available from 23rd April 2025 at one of the most progressive schools in Devon. The role of the Marketing and Communications Director is to be at the heart of the school using creative flair to capture day-to-day life, school events and achievements. You will play a central role in bringing the School’s story to a wider audience through social-media and the website, raising the School’s profile and generating interest in Kingsley School. You will be working closely with the Admissions Team.
The Marketing & Communications Director, together with the Admissions Team at KIngsley School are dedicated to promoting the school's ethos, values, and achievements to a wide audience. Our purpose is to enhance the school's visibility and reputation through strategic communication, branding, and outreach efforts. By creating engaging content, managing digital platforms, and organising events, the Marketing & Communications Director attracts prospective students and families while keeping the current school community informed and connected. We aim to showcase the unique strengths and opportunities offered at Kingsley School, fostering a strong and vibrant school identity both locally and globally.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and create a steady flow of dynamic, engaging news content for the school’s social media channels and website, writing compelling copy and engaging articles. You will need to be active around the school, establishing productive relationships with teachers and others to help identify engaging ways in which to tell the story of the school.
- Maintain and grow the school’s social media presence.
- In conjunction with available external consultants, review and deliver the school’s digital marketing strategy.
- Ensure that the school website content is up to date.
- Create communication to current and prospective parents, for example weekly newsletters.
- Maintain a high community profile locally and promote community engagement and collaboration.
- Develop and maintain a high-quality image and video library, personally undertaking photography and videography when necessary, including editing.
- Assist in the development and production of school publications, for example brochures and flyers, including writing content, proofing and production.
- Work with the Headteacher and Admissions Team to develop an advertising programme for the school.
- Plan and execute individual marketing campaigns for each marketing and admissions event (e.g. Open Days).
- Provide ad-hoc support throughout the year as required for Marketing and Admissions events to promote the school to both existing and prospective families. This will require some evening and weekend work for which TOIL will be earned.
- Identify and research opportunities for proactive publicity, working with internal stakeholders to develop stories and case studies, drafting copy and promoting it across a range of media channels.
- Preparing and submitting entries for national awards (e.g. TES, BSA, ISC, ISI, BE, etc.).
- Produce regular evaluation reports to assess communications impact across a range of channels.
- Work with external agencies as appropriate to ensure adherence to brand guidelines.
- Assist in the development of competitor analysis.
- Prepare termly reports to Governors on all marketing activity and its impact.
