Role Overview:
We are seeking a Hire Manager with a passion for sound, light, and event production to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your career in a fast-growing industry while working with a wide range of AV and production products. You will be responsible for overseeing the hire department, managing client relationships, and contributing to both dry and wet hire projects.
This position is primarily office-based, but it offers the chance to get involved in occasional on-site activities. You will play a key role in project management, client negotiations, and ensuring the smooth delivery of major rental and installation projects. This is a hands-on role with direct responsibility for handling trade rental and dry hire orders.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage rental enquiries, issue quotations, and ensure efficient delivery of dry hire and rental orders.
· Build and maintain relationships with trade rental and B2B clients.
· Oversee sub-hire procurement and ensure competitive pricing.
· Assist in pre-production, including technical specifications, resource booking, and quotations.
· Act as project manager for designated rental projects, ensuring client satisfaction from negotiation to execution.
· Provide out-of-hours support for active projects when required.
· Maintain the CRM system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
· Track and manage missing items post-hire, and handle invoicing for replacements as needed.
· Seek and develop new rental opportunities to grow the business.

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
Essential Requirements;
· At least 3 year’s experience in the AV industry, with proven records of managing and operating multiple technical aspects of AV.
· Have a proven comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the following areas, Sound, Lighting, Video, Staging, Rigging, Power and Distribution.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and demanding environment.
· Willingness to learn new skills in conjunction with skills and equipment as and when required.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build client relationships and lead a team.
· Hands-on experience with a broad range of lighting, sound, AV, and rigging equipment
· Commercially astute, with a good understanding of profitability, cost control, and basic accounting principles.
· Proficiency in IT, including spreadsheet management and CRM systems.
· Full driving license, and the ability to travel within the UK on short notice.
Desirable Requirements;
· Experience in show design software such as Capture, AutoCad etc
· Knowledge of sound design software such as SMAART, Systune etc.
· Experience and Training on plant equipment (eg IPAF, Telehandler etc)
