Job Title: Filmmaking Teacher

Location: Cambridge

Schedule: Sundays, 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Start Date: September 2025

Teaching actors and filmmakers from ages 10 - 21

The Young Actors Company, a renowned drama school with a reputation for excellence and innovation, is seeking a passionate Filmmaking Teacher to join our vibrant team.

This is more than a teaching role, it’s a chance to inspire, lead, and collaborate with the next generation of talented young actors and filmmakers.

About the Role

As a filmmaking teacher, you’ll take the lead on teaching camera work, editing, and the craft of making professional-quality films. You’ll guide students through the full creative process, from brainstorming and writing, to shooting and editing, helping them produce at least one original film project per year.

You’ll work closely with a drama teacher who will support in coaching screen acting and co-directing the students’ films, creating a dynamic team environment where young creatives can thrive.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has hands-on experience in filmmaking, including shooting and editing
  • Is passionate about mentoring and inspiring young people
  • Can confidently lead workshops and guide film projects from idea to screen
  • Thrives in a collaborative, creative teaching environment
  • Acting or drama teaching experience is a bonus—but not essential
