Working across some of London’s leading venues and cultural spaces, we provide technical design, equipment and production management, with particular expertise in lighting, rigging and temporary event infrastructure. Our projects range from smaller bespoke installations through to complex, large-scale productions involving multiple technical disciplines.
We pride ourselves on combining strong technical knowledge with a practical, solutions-focused approach and a high standard of client service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and technically experienced Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for projects from initial enquiry and quotation through pre-production, on-site delivery and final reconciliation.
Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Production & Project Management
- Manage incoming enquiries, ensuring an accurate client brief is obtained and developing a comprehensive understanding of the project's technical, operational and commercial requirements.
- Develop project proposals, quotations and commercial responses in accordance with DCLX pricing policies and expected financial performance.
- Provide clients with project management support and technical guidance, including equipment specifications, technical solutions, logistics, scheduling, staffing and third-party requirements.
- Technically manage all elements of allocated projects, focusing on lighting and rigging and additional video, audio, power distribution and scenic elements where applicable.
- Produce and collate project documentation, including method statements, risk assessments and other relevant Health & Safety documentation.
- Produce clear and comprehensive project briefs for technical staff and crew.
- Attend site visits, production meetings and client meetings as required.
- Develop and manage project budgets, procurement, cash flow, variations and change orders.
- Monitor project profitability and ensure additional works and variations are identified, agreed and invoiced appropriately.
- Manage sub-hired equipment, freelance crew, transport and other externally supplied services within the agreed project budget.
- Book and manage equipment using the Company's rental management system, HireHop, ensuring equipment requirements, dispatch/return dates and transfers remain accurate and up to date.
- Liaise closely with the Operations team to ensure projects are appropriately resourced and prepared.
- Assist with and facilitate client demonstrations, technical tests and programming sessions where required.
On-Site Delivery
- Ensure project documentation includes relevant information such as build and de-rig schedules, room and equipment layouts, rehearsals, show times, client and venue contacts, access information and individual crew responsibilities.
- Supervise event builds, installations and de-rigs where required.
- Act as the primary DCLX contact for allocated projects and ensure client requirements are fulfilled throughout the delivery process.
- Ensure DCLX Health & Safety policies, Codes of Practice and project-specific RAMS are followed at all times.
- Ensure crew comply with appropriate dress standards and PPE requirements.
- Manage and supervise freelance staff working on behalf of DCLX.
- Liaise with venues, suppliers, contractors and other production departments to ensure all technical elements are correctly integrated and delivered to schedule.
- Attend events and productions for which you are directly responsible, providing client liaison and ensuring a consistently high standard of delivery.
- Identify and resolve technical, operational and logistical issues as they arise.
Commercial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate project administration and records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Advise on equipment requirements and coordinate with DCLX Operations and Warehouse teams.
- Manage project financials, budgets, purchase orders and final reconciliation.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of venues in which DCLX regularly operates.
- Coordinate national and international logistics and shipments where required.
- Maintain effective working relationships across all DCLX departments.
- Attend and actively participate in Company meetings.
- Keep up to date with relevant industry developments, products, services and working practices.
- Maintain the confidentiality of information relating to DCLX, its clients, projects and employees.
- Represent DCLX professionally throughout all stages of project delivery.

- The ability to confidently communicate with clients, venues, suppliers, crew and colleagues.
- The ability to provide clear technical advice and instructions.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
