Role Overview

As the Part-Time Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the charity’s programs, events, and campaigns. You will collaborate closely with the leadership team and other departments to raise awareness, enhance donor engagement, and foster a supportive community. This is a dynamic role that requires creativity, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to LGBTQ+ issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Marketing Strategies: Create and implement comprehensive marketing plans to promote the charity’s initiatives, events, and campaigns, with a focus on digital and social media engagement.
  • Social Media Management: Manage and grow the charity’s presence on platforms like Tik Tok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Plan and schedule posts, engage with followers, and monitor trends.
  • Content Creation: Produce and oversee the creation of compelling content, including blog posts, newsletters, videos, and graphics, ensuring alignment with the charity’s values and messaging.
  • Email Campaigns: Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to engage donors, volunteers, and community members, using platforms like Mailchimp or similar tools.
  • Event Promotion: Collaborate with the events team to develop marketing strategies that boost attendance at both virtual and in-person events.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistency in brand messaging across all channels, including printed materials, website, and social media.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Track the success of marketing campaigns through analytics, reporting on key performance metrics, and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with donors, corporate partners, and media outlets to raise the charity’s profile and build meaningful relationships.
  • Collaborate with Volunteers: Coordinate with the charity’s volunteer teams to engage them in spreading the word about events, campaigns, and initiatives.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven Experience: Experience in marketing, preferably in the non-profit or LGBTQ+ advocacy sector.
  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Strong knowledge of digital marketing strategies, social media management, SEO, and email marketing.
  • Content Creation: Experience in producing engaging content, from social media posts to long-form content like newsletters or blog articles.
  • Creative and Strategic: A blend of creativity and strategic thinking, with the ability to develop innovative marketing campaigns.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and adjust marketing strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Passionate about LGBTQ+ Advocacy: A strong commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and equality, with an understanding of the unique challenges facing the community.
  • Team Player: Collaborative approach, with strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in marketing tools such as Hootsuite, Canva, Google Analytics, and Mailchimp (or similar platforms).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ or other marginalized communities.
  • Familiarity with fundraising campaigns or donor engagement strategies.
  • Experience with graphic design or video editing tools.
