Help Us Tell Stories That Matter

We are a purpose-driven organisation operating across health and social care, justice, and insight services. Through our diverse Group of ten businesses, we support individuals, communities, commissioning organisations, and public sector partners to achieve better outcomes and create lasting impact.

We are searching for a talented and curious Communications Manager to join our Communications and Marketing Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional with strong editorial instincts, a passion for storytelling, and the ability to create engaging content across multiple platforms.

If you're someone who can turn complex information into compelling content, spot stories others might miss, and embrace the opportunities that AI brings to modern communications while maintaining an authentic human voice, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

This role supports businesses across the Group through strategic communications, content creation, digital marketing, stakeholder engagement, and brand development.

You'll work closely with senior leaders, operational teams, and colleagues across the organisation to uncover powerful stories, promote services, and help raise awareness of the positive impact our businesses deliver every day.

Our key external communication channels include websites, LinkedIn, newsletters, events, face-to-face engagement, and digital campaigns.

This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You'll have the opportunity to influence strategy while remaining hands-on with content creation, digital communications, and campaign delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications

  • Support the development and delivery of the Group-wide communications strategy across ten businesses.
  • Ensure communications activity aligns with organisational priorities and business objectives.
  • Promote consistency, collaboration, and best practice across all communications activity.

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Create engaging and impactful content across websites, social media, newsletters, thought leadership articles, video, and marketing collateral.
  • Lead the production of commissioner newsletters, case studies, service updates, and business development materials.
  • Work with operational teams to identify compelling stories that showcase service impact and client outcomes.
  • Support executive communications and key organisational announcements.

Digital Communications

  • Manage and coordinate social media channels, including planning, publishing, monitoring, reporting, and engagement.
  • Act as the main liaison with website providers, supporting the ongoing development and optimisation of digital platforms.
  • Ensure website content remains accurate, engaging, accessible, and SEO optimised.
  • Support colleagues in the effective use of communication and digital platforms, including content approval processes.

Insight & Analytics

  • Use audience insight, analytics, and performance data to inform communications activity.
  • Develop reports and dashboards that measure engagement and demonstrate impact.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve campaigns, channels, and content performance.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders, operational teams, commissioners, and stakeholders across the Group.
  • Act as a central point of contact for communications requests and priorities.
  • Coordinate awareness-raising campaigns, community engagement activities, and service promotion initiatives.

Brand Management

  • Manage communications materials, merchandise, and promotional resources.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications channels and assets.
  • Maintain communications planning tools and content calendars to support strategic delivery.

About You

You'll be an excellent communicator with strong editorial judgement, exceptional organisational skills, and a genuine passion for creating content that informs, inspires, and engages.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience delivering and evaluating communications and marketing activities within a communications function.
  • Excellent copywriting skills with proven experience producing content for a range of audiences and communication channels.
  • Experience managing websites, intranets, social media platforms, newsletters, and digital communication channels.
  • Strong understanding of SEO and digital content optimisation.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and influence senior leaders, stakeholders, and frontline teams across multiple organisations.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple business areas.
  • Experience using analytics and audience insight to measure performance and improve communications activity.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for emerging technologies, including AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude and ChatGPT, alongside a clear understanding of where human creativity and editorial judgement remain essential.

We'd Love To See

  • A natural instinct for identifying compelling stories and creating engaging narratives.
  • Experience writing video scripts, podcast content, executive communications, or thought leadership pieces.
  • Knowledge of communications within healthcare, social care, justice, or related sectors.
  • Experience using content management systems and social media management platforms.
  • Basic video editing, multimedia production, or graphic design skills.
  • A background in journalism, editorial publishing, marketing, or communications.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you'll become the person who can:

  • Spot a story where others see information.
  • Turn complex subjects into compelling content.
  • Balance AI-powered efficiency with excellent editorial judgement.
  • Create content that people genuinely want to engage with.
  • Strengthen the profile and reputation of our organisation and Group businesses.
  • Deliver communications that influence, inform, and inspire action.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, ambitious, and mission-led organisation where communications plays a central role in driving engagement and growth.

In return, you'll benefit from:

  • The opportunity to shape communications across a diverse Group of businesses.
  • A collaborative and supportive working environment.
