Full job description

Out There Media is looking for an enthusiastic Videographer to work on projects based in both social media and long form linear editing.

In this entry level role, you’ll be working with incredible content from the worlds of extreme sports, live events, and documentaries, to help us meet the needs of our global and local clientele. You must be a driven creative individual with strong storytelling capabilities.

The role will consist of:

  • Using existing content to create social media friendly cutdowns, new edits, and promotional assets.
  • Re-formatting content to achieve maximum distribution on various social platforms.
  • Research and script writing for editorial text-on-screen explainer edits.
  • Sourcing assets to edit from various media databases.
  • Editing both short and longform content.
  • Creating new edits from raw footage captured by Out There Media camera operators.
  • Camera operating on social shoots (Using mirrorless cameras, action cameras, and phones to capture high-end social content)
  • Camera operating on more traditional shoots (Professional interviews and cinematic footage)
  • Providing on-location support to assist with social filming and fast-turnaround editing during live events. This will sometimes include having to travel for work and overnight stays where necessary.
  • Providing new ideas and creative input on how we can improve our content & offerings.
  • Working across various brands and striving to replicate their core messaging and tone of voice.
  • Working to meet specific deadlines & targets.

What previous experience do you need?

  • 3 years experience or a relevant university degree.
  • You must have experience editing with Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • An in-depth understanding of how content is packaged differently for various online platforms (particularly Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook).
  • Experience working on content for a large media channel is preferred (social or broadcast).
