Scope of Role:

The Digital Content Creator will be responsible for delivering a variety of content across a range of media for all Cox Automotive brands across various paid, owned, shared, and earned channels. As multi-faceted content producer, your outputs will include articles/blogs, insight papers, press releases, thought leadership and industry commentary, case studies, interviews, scripts, visual assets, videos, animations, and podcasts. A passion for new content formats and trends is desirable as we look to capitalise on new media opportunities & technology advancement.

You will act as our in-house ‘editor at large’, identifying and developing stories that articulate our propositions, campaigns, strategies, and insights. Some content requires long-form documents, whilst others is better digested in short video soundbites – the digital creator’s content will resonate with our target audiences and be channel appropriate.

You will work closely with the wider marketing and creative team, sales team, insight and strategy team, business leaders, and other senior stakeholders. It’s vital you build a deep understanding of the Cox Automotive business, strategy, ambition, and proposition and, where relevant, are able to contextualise this in the development of new content. You will be taking briefs from across the business’ portfolio of industry-leading brands, from creating to modifying and optimising content, as well as understanding the value of repurposing content and existing digital assets to accelerate content development.

Objectives for Role:

  • Deliver error-free, well-researched, and engaging content in all forms – written, visual, video, and audio. You will be comfortable editing the written work of others and providing constructive feedback in a range of media formats.
  • Be proficient in using data to identify trends and areas of interest, and adjust their outputs to incorporate keywords or themes, ensuring all digital/web content is optimised for SEO and/or the relevant channel.
  • Be confident in sourcing insight independently and through interviewing business leaders, subject experts, and third parties (e.g. customers, partners, influencers, etc.) and adept at extracting and understanding their opinions and sentiment, while simultaneously representing marketing and Cox Automotive professionally.
  • Comfortable bylining for others in the business and able to adapt your style to suit different audiences and brand personalities.
  • You will also be happy to partner with the wider team & turn your hand to other multimedia projects as required, such as creating brochures, reports, videos, social media assets, animations, and podcasts. Additionally, you will provide coaching to marketing colleagues relating to the production of quality multimedia content.
  • You will be curious, creative, and thorough, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Create and optimize visual assets, videos, animations, and podcasts to support written content
  • Ensure all content is SEO optimised and aligns with current digital marketing best practices
  • Utilise various CMS systems for online content upload, optimisation, and maintenance

?Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of degree-level education (ideally in business, marketing, or digital media) or equivalent journalism qualification.

  • Experience in producing multimedia content within a corporate or agency environment, or as a journalist within the automotive sector

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) for creating and editing visual and video content an advantage

  • Experience in video editing, animation, and podcast production an advantage

  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices

  • Familiarity with various CMS systems (e.g., Umbraco, WordPress, Sitecore) for content upload, optimisation, and maintenance

  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously, with a collaborative approach both internally and externally

  • Very good understanding of the automotive sector

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven experience in B2B marketing and multi-channel marketing with a continuous desire to develop knowledge and skills

  • Ability to quickly familiarise yourself with the brands’ products and services, target audiences, and competitor activities

  • A self-starter who brings individual skill, creativity, and tenacity, coupled with a personality that aligns with Cox Automotive values and culture
