Job Purpose

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and reliable candidate, who can work both independently and as part of a team to find solutions to complex audio visual systems.

The service and commissioning engineer will be responsible for the setup, configuration and commissioning, monitoring and maintaining of AV equipment and related infrastructure in various sites.

The postholder will play a central role in setting up and maintaining systems to meet the specific needs of the customer, and in adherence to all Company Policy. The individual will be responsible for trouble-shooting on-site issues as they arise whilst maintaining a high quality of work during all stages of a project.

The position will involve travelling to project sites primarily throughout NI & ROI, with the potential for sites across GB and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

· Installing, commissioning, configuring and testing of a range of audio visual systems, including the set-up and testing of AV systems off-site prior to installation.

· Performing service and commissioning work within the budgeted number of hours and to the required quality standards, ensuring that a low re-work rate is maintained

· Training end-users and clients on the operation and maintenance of AV systems and providing demonstrations to potentially large groups of customers at a time.

· Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and ensure proper equipment placement

· Providing technical support when fault troubleshooting onsite - diagnosing and attempting repair of technical faults.

· Performing planned preventative maintenance and documenting findings when required

· Reporting on all project and commissioning activities, addressing any escalations to the wider team where necessary.

· Collaborating with AV designers and project managers to fine-tune systems for client satisfaction.

· Providing updates to the project team on contract progress and any changes or serious issues related to on-site activity

· Ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLA) for response times and issue resolution.

· Providing comprehensive service and support for customer sites, ensuring operational integrity and client satisfaction

· Responding to clients in a timely manner ensuring that the client is always updated on progress

· Identifying when established procedures are not working and there are gaps in processes, and makes recommendations for improvements by sharing with the wider Fluid AV Team

· Attending all relevant training as requested for both legislative compliance and personal development

· Strong adherence to standards within all Fluid AV Company Policy & Procedure, including security, health & safety protocols and industry best practices.

Experience & Qualifications

Experience:

· A minimum of 3 years proven experience as an AV Commissioning Engineer or similar role, with a strong knowledge of AV products and systems, their maintenance requirements together with the software and hardware that comprise them.

· Demonstrable knowledge of the installation and commissioning of audio visual systems across a range of technologies, including but not limited to projectors, TVs, touchscreens, sound systems and amplifiers, communal presentation and meeting systems and software, and meeting room integration to control the meeting room environment.

· Proven experience of carrying out 1st & 2nd fix AV installations

· Proven programming skills and ability to troubleshoot and remedy faults with AV systems and equipment.

· Knowledge and ability to read and interpret terminating sheets, schematics, site plans and programme drawings.

· Proven specific experience or training in the installation of IP based AV installations and networking fundamentals.

· Demonstrable mechanical skills - ability to use hand tools for installation and troubleshooting purposes, including soldering, crimping and terminating

· Experience working with industry leading manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, QSC, Biamp and Cisco etc.

· Full Clean Driving licence is desirable, but not essential

· Genuine interest in Audio Visual, understanding AV technologies and IT systems on a technical level

· Strong technical problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to AV system troubleshooting.

· High level of organisation and workload prioritisation, with attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

· Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.

· Strong communication and presentation skills to be able to converse with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including in client-facing scenarios and ability to build long-term relationships.

· Keen on staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in audio-visual technology

· Comfortable working at heights and occasionally tight spaces
