Full job description

We're looking for an experienced and talented Digital Marketing Manager to lead the digital growth of Birkacre Garden Centre and our premium outdoor living brand, Loom Outdoor Living.

This isn't a role for someone who simply schedules social media posts. We're looking for a creative, commercially-minded marketer who can take ownership of every aspect of our digital presence and help grow both brands.

You'll have the freedom to develop innovative campaigns, launch new ideas, improve our online performance, and ensure our brands are visible wherever our customers are looking—from Google to Instagram, Pinterest to emerging AI platforms.

Whilst this is advertised as a full time role (Monday- Friday), we would be happy to consider taking on someone on a part-time basis.

The Role

Reporting directly to the senior management team, you'll be responsible for planning, creating and delivering the digital marketing strategy across both businesses.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and continually improving our websites to maximise customer experience and conversions.
  • Designing and developing new website content, landing pages and digital assets.
  • Driving SEO strategy to increase organic rankings and website traffic.
  • Planning, creating and managing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Producing high-quality graphic design for digital and print marketing.
  • Creating engaging content including photography, video and motion graphics.
  • Managing all social media platforms, growing audiences and increasing engagement.
  • Planning and delivering paid digital advertising campaigns where appropriate.
  • Building the online presence of our premium furniture brand, Loom Outdoor Living.
  • Ensuring both brands are visible across traditional search engines, AI-powered search and recommendation platforms, and emerging digital channels.
  • Writing compelling copy for websites, email campaigns, advertising and social media.
  • Monitoring analytics, reporting performance and continually improving campaign effectiveness.
  • Protecting and developing consistent brand identity across every customer touchpoint.
  • Researching new marketing technologies, AI tools and digital trends to keep both brands ahead of the competition.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines creativity with commercial thinking.

You should have experience in:

  • Website design and content management
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
  • Graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity or similar)
  • Social media strategy and content creation
  • Digital advertising
  • Email marketing
  • Photography and video editing
  • Google Analytics and performance reporting
  • Copywriting
  • Brand development

You'll also:

  • Be highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be proactive and full of ideas.
  • Be confident working independently and taking ownership of projects.
  • Have a genuine interest in digital innovation and AI.
  • Understand how to create marketing that delivers measurable commercial results.

Why Join Birkacre?

Birkacre is one of Lancashire's fastest growing independent garden centres and continues to invest heavily in its future. Alongside our established garden centre, restaurant and retail departments, we're developing Loom Outdoor Living, an exciting premium garden furniture brand with ambitious plans for growth.

This is an opportunity to join a successful family-run business where your ideas will genuinely shape the future of two growing brands. You'll have the freedom to innovate, make decisions and see your work make a real commercial impact.

Interested?

If you're passionate about digital marketing, branding and creating campaigns that get results, we'd love to hear from you.

Please send your CV together with a short covering letter explaining why you're the right person for the role.
