System Setup and Installation

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Audio Visual (AV) Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Junior AV Engineer will assist in the installation, setup, and maintenance of audio visual systems for a variety of settings, including corporate installations, educational institutions, and entertainment venues. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for technology and a desire to learn and grow in the AV field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation of AV equipment such as projectors, sound systems, video conferencing equipment, and digital displays.
  • Ensure all equipment is installed according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Support senior engineers during setup and teardown of AV systems for events.

Technical Support

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for AV equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AV systems in a timely manner.
  • Assist users in operating AV equipment and provide training as needed.

Maintenance and Repair

  • Perform regular maintenance checks on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues.
  • Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and report any discrepancies or needs for replacement.

System Design and Planning

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design AV systems tailored to client needs.
  • Assist in creating diagrams and documentation for AV system designs.
  • Participate in site surveys to assess AV requirements and constraints.


  • Experience of building sites and confident in using hand-tools and drills
  • Proven interest in the Audio Visual Industry
  • A valid driving license and access to your own car to travel to various job sites.
  • Good time keeping skills, well mannered and good communications skills are a must.
  • Based in Central Edinburgh this job will often require staying away from home including across the UK and occasionally in Europe.
  • This job can be physically demanding so applicant must be physically fit and comfortable lifting heavy equipment.
