Job Title: SENCo Lead

Job Overview: Alternative Provision & SEN Holiday Clubs / Leading SENCo Team / Coordinating delivery teams / Liaising with families, schools and multi-agencies

Location: South West region

Terms: 40hrs per week - Hybrid during term time - Remote during school holidays

About Us: Tubers Academy is a digital creators academy and creative space for young people with additional needs, aged 7-17. We are a forward thinking, progressive company looking for dynamic teachers and creatives to assist in enabling young learners to express themselves digitally.

Our Alternative Provision facility provides 1:1 and small group delivery of our digital production curriculum and structured gaming to SEN children out of, transitioning or struggling within the school environment.

Our South West region currently covers three centres - Exeter, Torquay Taunton - with additional sites planned.

Services include: Alternative Provision / Remote sessions

About the Role: Responsible for overseeing centre delivery teams and child placements within an Alternative Provision setting. May be required to deliver as cover or support across centres where necessary.

Responsibilities:

SENCo Lead:

  • Manage and coordinate Area SENCo and delivery teams with weekly attendance at regional centres.
  • Coordinate student onboarding, child placements and associated admin management.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring and CPD awareness for delivery teams.
  • Ensure best practice across settings and facilitate peer support and resource sharing.
  • Act as the lead for complex SEND cases and transitions, liaising with local authorities, parents, schools and multi-agencies.
  • Coordinate with SENCo team to ensure adherence and standards of reporting processes.
  • Monitor the delivery of individual learner progress and targets.
  • Establish and monitor behaviour plans where required.
  • Attend EHCP / TAF / transitional / multi agency meetings.
  • Support recruitment, induction and training of SEND staff across the region.
  • Working closely with management to ensure service standards and development.
  • Preparing and delivering SEN training throughout the region.
  • Occasional delivery cover or supervision at regional centres.

Designated Safeguarding Lead:

  • Act as the regional DSL, ensure all centres adhere to statutory safeguarding guidance.
  • Provide oversight and quality assurance of safeguarding records, referrals and child protection casework.
  • Ensure high standard and compliance of staff safeguarding understanding and reporting.
  • Support local DSLs in managing disclosures, liaising with multi-agency partners, and ensuring timely interventions.
  • Attend regulatory regional safeguarding courses.

Candidate Requirements:

A dedicated, driven team leader with exceptional organisational skills and the ability to oversee and direct centre teams to a high delivery standard. A highly committed individual capable of supporting families of young people with additional needs and coordinating with all involved agencies. A focused and compassionate personality with a drive to help children thrive within a learning environment.

  • Experience managing or supervising a small team. (E)

  • Knowledge of video games and internet culture. (E)
  • Flexibility to work overtime and cover shifts when required. (E)
  • Ability to attend onsite at regional centres. (E)
