Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional AV field technician to service high end residential clients in London, the Home Counties and South England. The ideal candidate will combine technical AV knowledge with problem solving skills and superb customer-facing abilities.

Responsibilities:

· Installing and troubleshooting AV equipment in High end residential environment, including speakers, TVs, multiroom control systems (Control4), lighting control (Lutron and Rako), blinds control, networks (Ubiquiti and Draytek), VOIP phone systems, CCTV (Dahua and Hikvision) and door entry systems (Control4 and 2N).

· Work closely with all the internal & external contacts to provide excellent customer service

· Support the project manager and internal teams with technical advice and timings

· Perform installations and complete Project Manager's action lists to clients’ acceptance

· Perform field service calls as required for warranty support of completed projects

· Rack fabrication and buildout of AV equipment and networking gear

· Properly label and dress all cabling

· Create accurate work reports

· Review plans, elevations and technical drawings. Terminate all audio, video and control connections according to drawings

· Serve as a point of contact for clients and ensure all needs are met, working in tandem with the rest of the team

· Train customers on functions of the system

· Organise and maintain van stock levels

Education, Experience and Skills Minimum Requirements:

· Willingness to travel daily (we service the whole of the South of England and travelling is a daily part of the job)

· Non-9-5 mentality

· Problem solver, with a can-do attitude

· High attention to detail

· Minimum Level 2 Certified Control4 Installer

· At least 2 years field experience installing and carrying out troubleshooting on Control4 systems

· At least 2 years field experience installing and programming Lutron, Control4 and Rako lighting control systems

· Proven experience in programming networks, particularly Ubiquiti and Draytek

· Ability to recommend solutions to issues found in AV systems

· Ability to comprehend audiovisual system schematics

· Willingness to undertake training where required

· Experience using hand and power tools

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Proven ability of following procedures and producing work reports

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

· IT skills capability that allows you to use and update PCs, install software and OS

· Health and safety knowledge

· Full Driver’s License, held for at least 12 months

Further Skills Desirable, but not Essential:

· Good research skills and an active interest in new technologies

· Experience of Mikrotik, Araknis and Pakedge products

· Understanding of how networks, AV systems, light, shades and HVAC are integrated and interrelate

· Ability to read construction & CAD drawings

· Familiarity with multimeters and other electronic test meters
