Full job description

Important: This role requires working Mon - Fri from our Stansted office (non negotiable)

Accountancy that people actually watch

We're Your Accountant, a UK chartered accountancy firm. Yes, accountancy. But our YouTube channel doesn't sound like one: tax, money and business, told with energy and tongue firmly in cheek. Entertaining first, insightful always.

We built it ourselves, with no agency and no video background. One video has even hit 2.7 million views, plenty of others have done well too, so we kinda know what works. Now we want someone in the room with us to take it much bigger.

You'll work directly with our Managing Director and Commercial Director, the people in front of the camera. It's a small, high-energy team, we're growing fast, and you'll be right in the middle of it. Where it goes next, you help decide.

What's yours

Two long-form YouTube videos a week, and shorts most days across YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels. Everything from the shoot to the analytics is yours.

  • Editing. Sharp, clean and entertaining.
  • The shoot. Set-up, lighting, framing, and directing us on the day. We'll take the direction.
  • Ideas. Formats, hooks, trends, collabs. If it'll get us watched, pitch it.
  • Publishing. Titles, thumbnails, descriptions, chapters, captions, scheduling and uploads on every platform.
  • Platforms. YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn to start, plus anywhere else you think we should be.
  • Performance. You live in the analytics: retention, click-through, watch time, engagement. You tell us what's working, what isn't and what's next.
  • The workflow. Files, calendar, deadlines. Nothing slips.
  • Tools. If there's software or kit that would do the job better, tell us. There's budget.
  • AI. Used well, it's a great tool. Used badly, it's slop. You'll know the difference.

Sound like you?

This is a marketing role first. If it isn't entertaining, nobody watches, and the slickest edit in the world is worth nothing without views. You know why people click, why they stay, and why they scroll past.

  • You get the platforms. You understand YouTube (titles, thumbnails, retention) and short-form (hooks, pacing, trends). Strong on one and keen to learn the rest is fine.
  • You can edit properly. Confident in a professional editor such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut. CapCut is fine for shorts, but it can't be the whole toolkit.
  • You bring the energy. We're high energy and ambitious, and we move quickly. You'll fit right in.
  • You're self-driven and reliable. Deadlines are deadlines. You don't need chasing.
  • You'll tell us when we're wrong. On camera, on topics, on titles. Bring opinions and data; honest feedback is how we get better.
  • You want to grow. We're growing fast, and the role grows with us.
  • You can get to Stansted Mountfitchet. Easy from Bishop's Stortford, Saffron Walden, Harlow and Great Dunmow, and the office is 30 seconds from the station.

We'll take outstanding social instincts over years of editing experience. We won't take a great editor with no feel for what gets watched.

What you get

  • £28,000 to £32,000 depending on experience
  • A proven channel and the keys to it
  • Budget for the software, kit and tools you need
  • Permanent employment with paid holiday and a workplace pension
  • Hybrid working once you're settled in
  • Room to grow as the business does

How to apply

Send us:

  • Your CV
  • Your portfolio, or other proof you've got the skills
