Vineyard Tour Guide – Up to £14.50 per hour

Wildshark Vineyard blends science and poetry, drawing on its land’s ancient marine past to create distinctive, accessible English wine. Inspired by the prehistoric sea creatures that once inhabited the North Downs during the Cretaceous period, the vineyard reflects a legacy shaped over 100 million years, crafted for a new generation of curious drinkers.

As a Vineyard Tour Guide, you will be responsible for leading visitors through our vineyards and winery, providing them with an engaging and informative experience. Your role will involve educating guests about our wines, the winemaking process, and the history of our vineyard. You will conduct tastings, answer questions, and ensure that guests have an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging tours of the vineyard, sharing insights into its history, cultivation, and production processes.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring guests have an enjoyable and informative experience.
  • Answer questions and facilitate interactions to enhance visitor understanding.
  • Conduct tastings, guiding guests through the sensory experience of our wines, and explaining the characteristics of each varietal.
  • Share knowledge of wine production techniques, grape varieties, and the unique features of the vineyard.
  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of tour areas including the Cellar door shop.
  • Promote the vineyard’s products and services during tours.
  • Support daily operations as needed to uphold company standards.

Qualifications/requirements

  • Preferred previous experience/knowledge of vineyards, wine production, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills .
  • Friendly, approachable personality with a passion for sharing knowledge.
  • Previous experience in guiding tours or hospitality is advantageous.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Enthusiasm for promoting local produce and sustainable practices.
  • Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different group sizes and schedules
