The role in a nutshell:
Share your time in one of our volunteer roles, either directly supporting or contributing to Age UK Lewisham & Southwark’s work with and for the people who need us most. We’ll share with you the volunteer roles currently available and you can select which one best matches how you’d like to give your time.What will you be doing?
Depending on the volunteer role you select, you may become a Lewisham Befriender, Southwark Care Home Befriender, Volunteer Driver (own car), Travel Companion, I&A Volunteer, Day Centre Volunteer, Lewisham Dementia Hub Volunteer. We would like to learn more about you and how your skills might support people in Lewisham and Southwark.

How would you be supported in this role?
In addition to providing you any relevant training for the role, we will also provide you with ongoing support, regular check-ins, key contact, volunteer socials and reimburse out of pocket expenses and you would have access to a wide range of training opportunities.

Your involvement helps combat loneliness and isolation for individuals facing various challenges, such as age, disability or low self-esteem. By becoming a volunteer you can make a significant positive impact in their lives and help them stay connected to the community.
