Support Your Local Community at our Community Events

We are looking for friendly, reliable and community-minded volunteers to help raise vital funds for Ashgate Hospice by representing the hospice at community events.

Community Events Volunteers represent Ashgate Hospice at local galas, fairs, festivals, and community events. Acting as ambassadors for the hospice, you will help raise awareness, engage with the public, and generate vital funds to support specialist palliative and end-of-life care for people and families across North Derbyshire

Department: Community Fundraising
Location: Various community venues across North Derbyshire

Time Commitment:

  • Flexible, event-based volunteering
  • Most events take place during weekends and occasional evenings.
  • Volunteers can sign up for events that suit their availability

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Community Events Volunteer, you’ll

  • Attending local galas, fairs, festivals and community events on behalf of the Hospice
  • Set up and manage the hospice stall or information stand
  • Welcome and engage members of the public in conversation about the hospice’s work
  • Promote upcoming fundraising activities and ways to support the Hospice.
  • Assist with fundraising activities such as raffles, games and merchandise sales.
  • Act as an ambassador for the hospice, whilst reflecting its values.

Who We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

  • Confident and friendly when speaking with the public
  • Comfortable engaging with a wide range of people
  • Reliable, trustworthy and punctual
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Abide by the policies and procedures of Ashgate Hospice
  • Ability to live the hospice values

No previous fundraising experience is required — full guidance and support will be provided.

Important Information

All volunteers are required to maintain confidentiality around certain patient and Hospice information.

All community event volunteers will be provided with training at each event.
