Full job description

------Please note: This is a voluntary (unpaid) role. There is no remuneration. ------

Walk For A Cure is a family friendly 5k walk for everyone impacted by dementia. A cure is within our grasp, together we can make it happen.

By volunteering at Walk For A Cure you will be creating an environment where people impacted by dementia can gather together, share experiences, and take steps to stop dementia in its tracks.

What you will be doing:

  • Greeter - welcoming walkers to the event village, generating a positive atmosphere, and helping to bring a warm personality to the day's event.
  • Event Village - helping with arrival and registration, handing out lanyards, t-shirts, medals and engaging with the public.
  • Route Marshal - guiding walkers along the route, ensuring safety of walkers at crossings and junctions. Giving walkers encouragement as they go past.
  • Photographer - capturing action shots to showcase the feel of the event. (Photographers may be required to marshal alongside this role).

Route marshals will require a reasonable level of general fitness to walk (unaided) to the furthest point on the 5k route (if required). All volunteer duties are based outside, so you will need to be comfortable in the outdoors and enthusiastic in all weather.
