We are looking for an experienced Tandoor Chef to join our kitchen team at a busy Indian restaurant in London. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in traditional North Indian tandoor cooking techniques and a passion for delivering authentic flavours with consistency and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of tandoori dishes including breads (naan, roti), kebabs, tikkas, and grills.
  • Operate and maintain the clay tandoor oven safely and efficiently.
  • Marinate meats, paneer, and vegetables according to restaurant recipes.
  • Ensure all dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety (in compliance with UK Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations).
  • Monitor inventory and assist in ordering and stock rotation.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to support menu development and daily service operations.
  • Manage portion control and minimize wastage.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Tandoor Chef or in a similar role in an Indian restaurant.
  • In-depth knowledge of North Indian cuisine and tandoor cooking techniques.
  • Familiarity with UK food safety standards (Level 2/3 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred).
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Good communication skills and team spirit.

Eligibility to work in the UK.
