Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Waitress or Waiter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all patrons. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your hospitality skills within a vibrant restaurant environment. Previous experience in the hospitality industry is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. The position involves working in a fast-paced setting, requiring excellent organisational and communication skills. Successful applicants will be passionate about food service, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive table service throughout their visit
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are accommodated
  • Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanour
  • Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
  • Handle payments accurately using the POS system and provide correct change
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, cutlery, and service areas
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Assist with basic food preparation when required, supporting kitchen staff as needed
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing any concerns promptly and courteously
  • Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow

Experience

  • Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory; full training will be provided
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper serving techniques is desirable
  • Familiarity with basic maths for handling transactions accurately
  • Experience with food preparation or kitchen operations can be beneficial
  • Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy shifts
  • Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
  • Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and revenue
