Who we are:

Giovanna’s is an independent family business offering high quality Italian pizza and wine to Forest Gate E7. We are a small but dynamic team of pizza chefs, sommeliers and staff who love what we do. We are looking for an experienced waiter who can help us ensure a great evening for our guests, everytime they visit.

We are looking for a skilled, professional waiter to help us grow our small independent business.

Our perfect candidate will be passionate about making regular and new customers feel special. They will have experience in similar, independent restaurants and have decent knowledge of Italian food and wine.

This role will support our Restaurant Manager and be a real team player. They will be invested in ensuring that customers keep coming back.

Role responsibilities:

  • Preparing the dining areas to keep them clean and attractive.
  • Serving and accommodating guests to ensure that they get the best experience they can.
  • Handling food and making drinks as required.
  • Supporting the restaurant manager to promote specials and events.
  • Ensuring orders are taken properly, charged correctly and processing payments.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations, including record keeping
  • Communicating well with the kitchen to ensure that customers have a great experience.
  • Cleaning and closing after service.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in hospitality – 2 years
  • Experience waiting – 2 years
  • Experience in independent, small businesses

Preferred Requirements

  • WSET2
  • Knowledge of Italian food and wine
  • Fluency in Italian language
  • Coffee making/ barista skills
