Job Summary

Tripots is a brand-new hotpot restaurant opening in the heart of Cambridge this September, and we are looking for enthusiastic Front of House Staff to help us build it from day one.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming experience for every guest. You will be part of our founding team, helping us deliver exceptional service from the moment we open our doors.

As one of our first team members, you will be involved in pre-opening preparations, including training, learning our service style, and helping us create an outstanding guest experience from day one. If you are passionate about hospitality and want to grow with a young, ambitious brand, we'd love to hear from you.

The restaurant opens in early September; you would join us from August to take part in opening preparations. The role is full-time and in person.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to every guest.
  • Welcome guests, take orders, serve food and drinks, and ensure every table has an excellent dining experience.
  • Assist with reservations, seating guests, and maintaining smooth table turnover during service.
  • Respond to guest enquiries and special requests with professionalism and care.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure food is served accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the restaurant.
  • Support with opening and closing duties, including setting up and clearing tables.
  • Follow food hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for both guests and colleagues.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, café, hotel, or similar hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering excellent customer service.
  • A friendly, positive attitude and confidence interacting with guests.
  • The ability to stay calm and organised during busy service periods.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • A willingness to learn and work as part of a supportive team.
  • An intention to build a career in UK hospitality is welcomed.
  • Basic Mandarin is not essential but preferred, as our working environment is bilingual (English/Mandarin).

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to join a brand-new restaurant from day one and be part of its journey.
  • Full training and support before and after opening.
  • Opportunities for career progression as the business grows.
  • Free staff meals and employee discount.
  • Company pension.
  • A friendly, supportive, bilingual team culture.

Details

  • Schedule: Full-time, in person.
  • Start: Late August (opening preparation); restaurant opens in early September.
  • Location: Central Cambridge.

If you are enthusiastic, enjoy working with people, and want to help turn a brand-new restaurant into the place locals keep coming back to, we would love to hear from you.
