Job Overview

As we prepare for the next stage of Taste Perthshire's development, we are looking for a Front of House Restaurant Assistant to join and strengthen our restaurant team on a permanent basis.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, delivering friendly and attentive service, and being part of a supportive hospitality team. You will play an important role in ensuring our guests enjoy a relaxed and positive dining experience, from arrival through to departure.

The restaurant operates 7 days a week (8am–8pm), and this role will involve a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests and providing friendly, attentive table service
• Taking food and drink orders and confidently explaining menu items
• Ensuring customer expectations are met and exceeded
• Working collaboratively with the front of house and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service
• Handling customer enquiries and feedback in a professional and courteous manner
• Maintaining cleanliness, organisation and presentation in front of house areas
• Preparing and serving teas, coffees and other hot drinks (barista experience is beneficial but not essential)
• Adhering to food safety, service standards and company procedures

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Is friendly, approachable and professional
• Enjoys working with people and delivering excellent customer service
• Is confident communicating with customers and colleagues
• Is reliable, organised and has a positive attitude
• Works well as part of a team in a busy hospitality environment
• Is willing to learn and take direction
• Has previous front of house or hospitality experience (preferred but not essential)
• Has barista or coffee machine experience (preferred but not essential)
