We're a mini supermarket in North Dorset that actually stands for something – and we need someone who gets it.

If you care about good food, real community, and working somewhere with a conscience that is also FUN, keep reading.

We are looking for 1-2 holiday part timers and maybe 1 other part timer (all year round). Must be able to work at least 1 weekend day.

Shop Assistant – Chettle Village Store

This isn't your typical shop job. Yes, you'll serve customers, stock shelves and make coffees. But you'll also be part of something that matters – a business built on the belief that food is what sustains us and keeps us healthy, so it deserves to be grown with love and care in a way that regenerates nature rather than depleting it, and sold through supply chains that are as ethical as we can possibly make them. The other part of your job will be interacting with customers, in a warm and friendly, but also fun way.

What makes us different?

We're deliberately not a posh farm shop. We're a proper mini supermarket where you can buy your everyday branded basics and choose organic, regenerative, or ethically sourced alternatives when you want them. No judgment, no exclusivity – just honest choices for everyone.

Our hot pies are legendary.

Our regulars are brilliant.

And our mission is to be the kind of place that makes the community stronger.

The role:

Everything from tills to deliveries, coffees to stock rotation, customer service and cleaning to reducing food waste. We're flexible on hours – it's more important we find the right people and then work out rotas that suit everyone.

What we're looking for:

Someone who lights up talking about food. Who understands why farming matters, why food provenance isn't just marketing fluff, and how to share that passion without being preachy. You'll need warmth, flexibility, good people skills, and the ability to stay calm when it gets busy (which it does).

Must-haves:

Driving license and own transport (we're rural, zero buses). Retail or hospitality experience helps but isn't essential. Able to work on weekends if necessary.
