Full-Time Professional Dog Walker

Walkies of Wimbledon

Join Our Growing Family-Run Team

At Walkies of Wimbledon, we are not looking for someone who simply wants a job walking dogs.

We are looking for someone who sees working with dogs as their career, their passion, and their future.

As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care to every dog in our pack. We have built a trusted reputation across Wimbledon and the surrounding areas through reliability, professionalism, and a genuine love for what we do.

If you’re looking for a long-term opportunity within a growing business and want to be part of a team that truly cares about dogs, their owners, and each other, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: Applications from individuals looking for temporary, short-term, seasonal, or stop-gap work are unlikely to be suitable for this position. We are seeking someone who is looking to build a long-term career within the dog care industry and become a key member of our team.

Location

Wimbledon, Southfields, Putney, Earlsfield and surrounding areas.

Position

Full-Time Professional Dog Walker

This is a permanent, full-time position.

We are specifically looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career within the dog care industry and become a key part of our growing business.

About the Role

This is far more than just dog walking.

You will play an important role in the daily lives of our clients and their dogs, building relationships and becoming someone they trust completely with their pets.

The role includes:

  • Group dog walks (the core part of the role)
  • Dog boarding
  • Home visits and drop-ins
  • Pet care and welfare monitoring
  • Safe transportation of dogs in company vehicles
  • Client communication and relationship building

Every day is different, and you’ll be responsible for ensuring every dog receives the highest level of care, exercise, stimulation, and attention.

What We Offer

  • Company van provided
  • Fuel allowance
  • Treat allowance
  • Full-time, stable employment
  • Opportunity to progress within a growing business
  • Supportive family-run working environment
  • Work outdoors with dogs every day
  • Ongoing training and development

As Walkies of Wimbledon continues to grow, there will be opportunities for increased responsibility and progression for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely collect, transport and return dogs using a company vehicle
  • Lead structured group walks with multiple dogs
  • Ensure all dogs are exercised safely and appropriately
  • Monitor dog behaviour and welfare at all times
  • Carry out drop-in visits, feeding visits and welfare checks
  • Assist with dog boarding when required
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in vehicles and equipment
  • Build positive relationships with clients
  • Represent Walkies of Wimbledon professionally at all times
  • Follow company procedures and safety protocols

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Confident driving on a daily basis
  • Previous professional dog care experience, including one or more of:
  • Dog walking
  • Dog day care
  • Kennels
  • Dog boarding
  • Animal care roles
  • Confident handling dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments
  • Strong understanding of dog behaviour
  • Physically fit and able to walk multiple dogs daily in all weather conditions
  • Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Wants a long-term career working with dogs
  • Takes pride in providing exceptional care
  • Is calm, confident and in control around dogs
  • Has excellent common sense and judgement
  • Is organised and self-motivated
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Understands that reliability is crucial when caring for clients’ pets
  • Wants to grow with the business rather than simply fill a temporary role

Most importantly, we want someone who genuinely loves dogs and is excited by the idea of spending every day caring for them.
