Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced distribution environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse staff, optimizing operational efficiency, maintaining health and safety standards, and ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment.

This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving ability, and a hands-on approach to managing people, processes, and performance within a busy warehouse setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse supervisors and operational staff to achieve productivity and performance targets.
  • Monitor operational KPIs such as order accuracy, dispatch times, stock accuracy, and labor efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and warehouse best practices.
  • Coordinate staffing levels, shift schedules, and workload planning to meet operational demands.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Work closely with transport, procurement, customer service, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and stock reconciliation processes.
  • Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of warehouse employees.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained and operational.
  • Prepare operational reports and provide updates to senior management.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a warehouse operations or logistics management role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills within a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Experience managing KPIs and operational performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certification or warehouse equipment knowledge.
  • Experience in e-commerce, retail distribution, or high-volume fulfilment environments.
