Full job description

Dole Foodservice Liverpool delivers fresh produce and food across the North West. We work extremely hard and are very passionate about what we do, aiming to deliver the best service we can to our customers.

We currently have vacancies for Van Delivery Drivers to supply customers on routes across the North West. This role is for 5 day/6 day fortnight, working alternate Saturdays.

The job involves making fresh produce deliveries to about 15-20 customers across a defined delivery area and often direct interaction with our Customers. You will have a professional approach, smart appearance and a positive attitude. Early starts about 5 am), with an early afternoon finish (depending on start time).

Hours: 42 hours per week

Salary: £28,531 plus bonus scheme for collecting boxes

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations.
  • Load and unload goods, often involving heavy lifting, with proper handling techniques.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, including obtaining signatures and completing delivery logs.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organised vehicle interior and exterior at all times.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehouse environments.
  • Valid driver licence with a clean driving record.
  • Experience with commercial driving
  • Strong driving skills with the ability to navigate urban and rural routes confidently.
  • Physical ability for heavy lifting and manual handling of goods when required.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
  • Organised with the ability to plan routes effectively and manage time efficiently.
