Stores & Manufacturing Operative

Location: Oldham
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm (38.5 hours per week)

Sterling ITI is a trusted Oldham-based manufacturer with three local sites and a long-standing reputation for designing and producing high-quality pressure and temperature sensors, instrumentation and calibration services. Our products are supplied to customers across the UK and exported to more than 50 countries worldwide.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and hands-on Stores & Manufacturing Operative to join our team.

This is a varied role combining stores, warehouse and light manufacturing duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, working as part of a team and taking pride in doing a job well.

What You'll Be Doing

Stores & Warehouse Duties

  • Picking, packing and preparing customer orders
  • Booking in deliveries and carrying out goods-in inspections
  • Organising and maintaining stock levels
  • Carrying out stock checks and inventory control
  • Preparing shipments for dispatch
  • Keeping the stores area clean, safe and organised
  • Following company quality procedures and processes

Manufacturing Support Duties

  • Preparing materials and components for production
  • Using hand tools to cut tubes, wires and metal components
  • Labelling, packing and preparing finished products for dispatch
  • Assisting production teams when required
  • Supporting colleagues across our group companies as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Warehouse and stores experience
  • Practical, hands-on approach to work
  • Good level of physical fitness and ability to lift materials safely
  • Reliable, trustworthy and punctual
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills (Sage an advantage)
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
