E-commerce Click and Collect Operative

About Us

Builder Depot is one of the UK's leading independent builders' merchants. We are committed to providing outstanding customer service and making the customer journey as simple and efficient as possible.

As our Click & Collect service continues to grow, we are looking for an E-Commerce Click & Collect Operative to support our Acton branch. This is a varied role combining warehouse operations, customer service and general branch support to ensure customers receive a first-class experience from the moment they place their order through to collection.

Training

Successful candidates will initially complete a 1-2 month training period at our New Southgate branch. During this time, you will become familiar with Builder Depot's systems, processes and service standards and gain hands-on experience within our established Click & Collect operation.

Following the completion of training, the role will be based at our Acton branch, where you will play a key role in establishing and developing the Click & Collect service.

Please note that candidates must be able to travel to our New Southgate branch during the training period.

Key ResponsibilitiesClick & Collect Operations

  • Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure all orders are checked, labelled and ready for collection within agreed timescales.
  • Serve customers collecting orders and assist with loading vehicles safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional Click & Collect area.
  • Manage customer returns and resolve collection-related issues.

Warehouse & Branch Support

  • Carry out general warehouse duties, including stock replenishment and housekeeping.
  • Assist with Goods In, stock checks and general warehouse activities where required.
  • Support other areas of the branch during quieter periods.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health and safety at all times.
  • Carry out manual handling duties, including lifting products up to 30kg.

Customer Service

  • Deliver an excellent customer experience and represent Builder Depot in a professional manner.
  • Work closely with branch colleagues and the E-Commerce team to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently.
  • Handle customer queries and provide updates when required.

About YouExperience

  • Previous warehouse or builders' merchant experience is desirable.
  • Counterbalance forklift experience and licence are preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience would be advantageous.

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to support the wider branch operation when required.
  • Physically capable of carrying out manual handling tasks safely.
