Job Description – Multi-Drop Van Driver

Job Title: Multi-Drop Van Driver

Location: Crowborough

Company: Penshurst Fine Foods

Salary: £34,500 per annum

Hours: Monday to Saturday, 5:00 am start

Job Overview

Penshurst Fine Foods is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused Multi-Drop Van Driver to join our delivery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering fine food products safely and efficiently to customers across designated routes while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.

Due to the company's motor insurance requirements, applicants must be aged 25 or over.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily multi-drop deliveries to customers, ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
  • Load and unload the delivery vehicle safely and securely.
  • Plan and follow efficient delivery routes.
  • Complete vehicle checks before and after each shift and report any defects immediately.
  • Ensure all delivery paperwork, delivery notes, and electronic records are completed accurately.
  • Collect customer signatures and, where required, process returns.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the delivery vehicle.
  • Handle food products carefully and in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service, acting as a professional ambassador for Penshurst Fine Foods.
  • Assist in the warehouse with loading, stock movement, and other duties when required.
  • Follow all company policies relating to health and safety, food hygiene, and road transport regulations.

Person SpecificationEssential

  • Must be 25 years of age or older (insurance requirement).
  • Full UK Category B driving licence.
  • Clean driving licence or a licence with only minor endorsements.
  • Previous experience in multi-drop delivery driving.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Good geographical knowledge and ability to use satellite navigation effectively.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying deliveries throughout the working day.
  • Professional, courteous, and reliable.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Desirable

  • Previous experience delivering food or perishable goods.
  • Knowledge of food safety and temperature-controlled deliveries.
  • Basic warehouse experience.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Saturday.
  • Daily start time: 5:00 am
  • Finish times will vary depending on delivery schedules.
