Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver/Waste Clearance Operative to join our team. This role involves operating commercial vehicles to collect and dispose of waste materials efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery driving and possess excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and team members. A clean valid driver’s licence and the ability to perform heavy lifting are essential for this position. The successful applicant will play a vital role in maintaining environmental standards while ensuring timely waste collection services.

Duties

  • Operate commercial vehicles, including lorries, to collect waste from designated sites
  • Ensure all waste is securely loaded and properly disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Assist with heavy lifting tasks during waste collection, ensuring safety procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate records of collections and disposal activities from start to finish
  • Communicate effectively with our clients regarding collection schedules and any issues encountered
  • Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during operations
  • Assist with yard organisation and logistics as required

Experience

  • Experience working in waste management or commercial driving is advantageous
  • Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
  • Valid driver’s licence, preferably with a clean driving record, including relevant endorsements for commercial vehicles
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to waste disposal and vehicle operation
  • Ability to work both independently or as part of a two-person team
  • Competent in using standard software tools to monitor, update, and maintain progress records throughout projects
  • Previous employment references will be required
