Reconomy Connect brings together several of Reconomy's market-leading brands and specialist services in the UK waste and resource management space. It brings together over 700 colleagues and serves more than 13,000 customers, creating a powerful proposition that leverages our scale, cutting-edge technology, data-driven insights and expertise to help customers make the best possible use of their materials and drive toward zero waste.
Our core values drive everything we do. We believe in fostering a supportive environment for our colleagues, delivering exceptional service to our customers, contributing to the community, and working towards a more sustainable environment. If you share these values and are passionate about making a positive impact, we'd love to hear from you.
We’re looking for an experienced, Corporate Business Development Manager in waste management to join our Business and Industry team in the Recycle Loop. We have a strong track record of thinking differently when it comes to working with customers, helping them transition to more sustainable and circular business models.
With global attention on resource management and the urgent need to tackle climate change, this is a fantastic opportunity to help businesses reduce their environmental impact. As part of our ongoing growth strategy, we’ve successfully completed over 20 acquisitions, with more in the pipeline - making this an exciting time for ambitious sales professionals to join us and contribute to our expanding portfolio of prestigious clients.
What is the role?
You will need to have experience in the environmental sector or waste management industry, along with a high energy, vision, and strong commercial acumen to develop impactful solutions for blue-chip organisations.
A key part of this role is building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline, using a mix of self-generated opportunities and company-provided leads. Where needed, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated bid team to manage the development and submission of compelling proposals.
You will have the opportunity to engage and present to an interesting variety of client stakeholders from on-site operations to the boardroom. Your goal will be to build a portfolio of profitable business accounts while delivering social, economic and environmental value to customers.
What can you bring?
- A robust track record of selling outsourced solutions into the commercial and industrial sectors.
- Experience within the waste management industry.
- Ability to self-generate and convert new business opportunities across multiple market sectors.
- Be able to demonstrate competence with a solution led sales process.
- Having the confidence and gravitas to develop meaningful dialogue with the right stakeholders.
- Effective communication and presentation skills at corporate level.
- Demonstrable track record of working to and consistently achieving challenging targets.
- Proven experience in bid and tender writing – taking a methodical approach to securing new business by collaborating with our bid support team to craft, develop, and deliver high-quality, compelling proposals.
- A strong commercial mindset, enabling you to drive profitability for your team while delivering meaningful value to customers.
Our benefits:
- Holidays - Once you’ve been with us for a year, you can enjoy added flexibility through our holiday buy/sell scheme.
- Volunteering Day - One paid day per year to support a local community project.
- Birthday Leave - Enjoy your special day off once you reach one year of service.
- MyPerks Platform - Access a wide range of discounts, cashback offers, cycle-to-work schemes, mortgage advice, wellbeing support, and more!
- Financial & Family Support - Enhanced pension contribution, life assurance, and maternity and paternity leave.
- Employee Referral Programme - Recommend great talent and earn a reward.
- Long Service Awards - Celebrating your milestones with us.
- Reward & Recognition Schemes - Recognising and celebrating achievements across the business.
- Enjoy the benefit of a company car to support you in this role.
Additional details:
- This role requires regular travel across the UK to meet potential customers, including frequent overnight stays. When not on the road, you will work remotely from home. A full UK driving licence is essential due to the travel demands of the position.
Please note: Due to high application volumes, we may close this role earlier than the advertised date – so don’t wait to apply!
