Accountant/Book keeper

Location: Stafford

Fulltime

Salary: POA (Dependent on Experience)

Job Summary

  • Collation, analyse monthly costings and issue reports for a growing soft fruit business with annual turnover of £20 million.
  • Summarise Quarterly Reports of Profit and Loss for Pre-Tax purposes
  • Provide annual and monthly budgets for business to operate
  • Review Operational KPIs (including labour efficiency, material variances, waste etc) producing clear reports from data generated
  • Create reports for investment appraisals
  • Advise Management on cost savings through reporting
  • Assist with the assessment of costings of all existing product lines and new lines introduced with in the Farms’ operations
  • Creating and analysing ad-hoc reports for Managements use as required
  • Check figures, postings are accurate then aid in forecasting and budgeting
  • Organize, classify, code and summarize numerical and financial data in ledgers or in a computer
  • Prepare, maintain, review, reconcile, and issue invoices and account statements according to company procedures
  • Ability to instruct, supervise, train accounts administrator.

The Ideal Candidate

This role would suit an experienced qualified accountant technician with a minimum of 5 years experience within finance.

  • AAT qualified (The Association of Accounting Technicians)

- AAT Accountant Level 4 /3 status ( MAAT but not necessary)

Proven experience working as an Accounts Manager in a fast-paced environment would be desirable

Advanced in using Microsoft Office packages in particular Word and Excel to provide detailed summaries

  • Working knowledge of Farm Plan would be desirable but not necessary
  • Excellent administration skills, highly organised, attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as within a team is essential.
