Due to the ongoing success of this initiative, we are currently looking for passionate and dynamic Waste and Resource Management (WARM) consultants to join our growing team in delivering a sustainable low-carbon future.

Position Overview: Joining during an exciting period of expansion of our global WARM group, you will add capacity to a growing EMEA team, working with private and public sector clients on a wide variety of schemes throughout the project life cycle, providing services from feasibility and strategy development through to detailed design and procurement at local and national scales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive waste audits, feasibility studies, and scheme assessments to identify opportunities for waste minimisation, recycling, and energy recovery.
  • Develop and implement waste management strategies that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, focusing on sustainable waste management solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise in waste processing, recycling technologies, anaerobic digestion, thermal conversion, and other energy recovery methods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design integrated waste management systems that optimise resource utilisation and minimise environmental impact.
  • Analyse data and prepare detailed reports, presenting findings and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in waste management, energy conversion, and circular economy practices.
  • Engage in business development activities, including client outreach, proposal writing, and participating in industry events to promote GHD’s WARM services.
  • Foster strong client relationships by delivering high-quality solutions, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining project timelines and budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil, chemical, process or mechanical engineering, resource management or a related field.
  • Proven experience in waste management consulting, with a focus on energy conversion technologies and waste-to-energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK waste management regulations, environmental permitting, and waste-related legislation.
  • Familiarity with waste characterisation, waste stream analysis, and life cycle assessment techniques.
  • Proficiency in utilising software tools for data analysis, modelling, and project management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Membership in relevant professional organisations (e.g., Chartered Institution of Wastes Management) is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and project locations as required.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, flexible working and more.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
  • A dynamic and inclusive work environment that promotes innovation and teamwork.
  • Contribution to meaningful, sustainable energy projects that have a positive impact on the environment and society.
