Job Title

Process Operator/Re-refinery

Oil Salvage Limited is one of Britain’s largest hazardous waste management organisations offering an all-inclusive service covering collection, treatment, disposal, reprocessing and recycling of waste oils and hazardous materials.

The company is an established, family run business based within the Merseyside dock area and has been trading since 1986 and has established a reputation for providing a first class quality service to its many diverse customers.

We currently have an opportunity for a full time Process Operator which is required to support the operation, maintenance and development of our Re-refinery.

As an Oil Salvage Process Operator your priority will be to work safely, effectively and efficiently undertaking a range of process activities to ensure the efficient operation of a waste oil processing/recycling refinery.

. As a Process Operator with Oil Salvage Ltd your primary purpose is to work safely in compliance with relevant legislation and standards i.e. ISO 45001 and site Health and Safety regulations.

·You will monitor the waste re-refinery process by checking/ recording instrumentation readings, e.g. meter and gauges and taking samples for analysis as necessary.

·Check and assess equipment in accordance with a planned maintenance monitoring system making sure that equipment is functioning correctly at all times reporting any faults to maintenance staff.

·Measure and control the heating and cooling systems relating to plant and equipment.

. You will be required to monitor a filtration system designed to refine the production process in addition to focusing on its development and optimization.

·Clean and prepare complex equipment prior to production start-up.

·Safely close down equipment once a production run is complete and run the finished product into various containers and tanks.

·You will work from a control room, using computers to operate, control and monitor the process, you will also patrol the plant and monitor machinery and processes on a frequent basis.

We are interested in applications from people who possess the following:

· Sound experience in a process Industry, ideally chemical or pharmaceutical with a track record of working in a hazardous environment

·Knowledge and experience of working with process control systems

. A mechanical aptitude for maintaining equipment, capable of rectifying faults with pumps, valves, e.t.c.

·Completed health and Safety training, such as IOSH Working Safely or equivalent

·A process operations qualification and or engineering qualifications, such as a City and Guilds or NVQs

·At a minimum, five GCSEs (or equivalent)

Proactive and self-motivated, as a Process Operator, you must have good problem solving- skills, excellent attention to detail and methodical approach.

What we can offer

· Salary of £40,000 per annum after 3 month training period, initially £37,500. (inclusive of shift premium).

· Applicant must be prepared to work shifts on a continuous 7-day, 12-hour shift rotation as follows 2 days, 2 nights to 4 off.

· Hours of work, days 5.45 am to 6.00pm, nights, 5.45 pm to 6.00am.

· Overtime shifts to meet business needs.

·Overtime paid at time and half of the basic hourly rate for hours in excess of 41.57 hours worked per week (average).

· 20 days annual leave.

· Company pension contribution.
