Animal Management Instructor

Location: Bicton College

Salary: £23,999.90 per annum

Terms & Conditions: Full time (37 hours/52 weeks) Support Contract
Closing Date: 12 February 2025

Interview Date: 17 February 2025

About the role

The opportunity has arisen to work in the heart of East Devon, within a growing, successful and vibrant team. Based at Bicton College, we are looking for an experienced, inspirational and confident individual to join our dynamic Animal Management teaching team working towards maintaining and improving our existing high standards and success rates. The role includes delivering practical and theory animal management lessons, tutoring and assessing learners in a range of animal subjects from Level 1 to Level 3. Practical lessons include working with exotic species, small and large mammals, fish and birds in our state of the art animal unit.

Skills & Experience

Applicants must have a nationally approved Stage 3 teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE, AET, CET, DET or equivalent), appropriate academic, professional or vocational qualifications at level 6 or above in Animal Management or a closely-related subject and relevant vocational experience within the animal industry. Strong practical skills and experience with a range of animal species would be advantageous.

Hours of work

This role is on a full time basis; 37 Hours per week. Working weekends & Bank holidays on a rota system.
