About the Company:

Our client is a long-established and respected logistics and transport business specialising in waste management and bulk haulage services across the UK. The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy and dynamic transport operation based in Astley, Manchester. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience within the waste industry who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can confidently manage daily fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and allocating daily loads for a waste and bulk haulage fleet
  • Managing routes efficiently to maximise fleet utilisation and productivity
  • Ensuring compliance with transport regulations, Working Time Directive, and driver hours legislation
  • Supporting drivers with briefings, scheduling, and operational queries
  • Liaising with customers regarding collections, deliveries, and service updates
  • Monitoring vehicle movements and operational efficiency throughout the day
  • Working closely with workshop teams to maintain vehicle compliance and roadworthiness

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Transport Planner is essential
  • Bonus if you have experience within the waste industry
  • Strong understanding of transport compliance and driver hours regulations
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Good IT knowledge, including Microsoft Office and transport management systems
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
