The Roberts Group is a well-established, family-run business based in Bridgwater, proudly delivering industry leading waste collection and recycling services to a loyal and growing customer base across Somerset. With a strong reputation for reliability, customer care and innovation, we are continuing to grow, and we are now looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to join our team as a Waste Operations Coordinator.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a busy, supportive and forward-thinking business where your contribution will genuinely make a difference. Working at the heart of our operations team, you will play a key role in maintaining excellent relationships with our customers, supporting business growth and helping to deliver exceptional service standards every day.

As part of the role, you will manage and support long standing, high value and high-profile waste contracts, acting as the main point of contact for day-to-day operational requirements. You will also assist with ad-hoc projects, monitor service delivery against agreed KPI targets and help identify opportunities to grow and strengthen existing customer relationships through additional services and support.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service and is eager to build a long-term career within a successful and expanding business.

The role involves:

  • Responding promptly to customer quotations and service requests.
  • Arranging and managing transport bookings efficiently and accurately.
  • Co-ordinating with third-party suppliers and drivers to ensure services are delivered on schedule.
  • Producing customer waste reports and maintaining compliance certification records.
  • Creating and maintaining a database of new and existing business opportunities.
  • Producing quotations, raising sales invoices and assisting with debt control using our Sage accounting software.
  • Communicating effectively with customers, colleagues and the management team.
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the business through general administrative duties.

We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, a proactive and positive approach to work, strong organisational skills and a willingness to learn and support the wider team where needed.

Salary: From £28,000 DOE

Hours: Full time. 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Dress code: Smart casual

Location: On site:- Bridgwater, Somerset

Experience & Skills Required

  • Proven experience in a senior administrative, contracts coordination, operations or logistics role.
  • Previous experience within the waste management, recycling, transport or related industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing customer contracts and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts.
  • Confident co-ordinating operational activities, suppliers and service schedules within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities to support business growth and customer retention.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail, particularly when handling compliance documentation, reporting and invoicing.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise professionally with customers, drivers, suppliers and senior management.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using operational or accounting software systems.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach with the ability to work independently and support wider business operations when required.
  • Previous experience managing KPI performance, service delivery standards or contract reporting would be advantageous.
