Our company, A.R.Richards, is located just outside Market Drayton in Shropshire. We offer our services throughout Shropshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, the Midlands, and Mid North Wales, with the ability to cater to work further afield on request. A.R.Richards was established in 1980 as a Plant Hire & Agricultural Contracting Business and has grown at a phenomenal rate since then. We offer a comprehensive range of services and products to the agricultural, construction and waste industry but to name a few.

Job Description

We have an exciting opening within the team for a Assistant Waste and Site Manager on a full-time permanent basis. This position is available with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a family firm in a growing industry. The role is based just outside Market Drayton off the A41.

Outline of the Role

As a Assistant Waste and Site Manager, you will be responsible for helping to oversee the day-to-day operations, both in and out of the office, for the waste department at out 20-acre site.

The job role of Assistant Waste and Site Manager will involve the following duties:

· Work closely with the Waste and Site Manager to ensure the site is running effectively and providing ongoing support for the daily operations at an MRF (Materials Recycling Facility).

· Ensuring all individuals within the waste operations are performing, working efficiently and effectively.

· Assist with managing all aspects of site including but not limited to site cleanliness, staff levels, material management, compliance (both physical and documents), ensure health and Safety guidelines are adhered to and general improvements. Regular Toolbox talks to be undertaken.

· Staff Management including PDPs, accidents/incidents, disciplinaries.

· Build working relationships with new customers, whilst maintaining and growing relationships with existing customers.

· Managing the quality control in the waste shed with the intake and offtake of materials.

· Supporting the weighbridge role, weighing vehicles in and out and booking on jobs and other weighbridge tasks as needed.

· Proposing new ideas and improvements to the Senior Management team.

· Any other duties as required by your line manager & or Senior Management

The Candidate

You will need to be a quick learner and be willing to take direction from a team that is well established in the waste industry. You must be able to work under pressure and enjoy problem solving and lateral thinking. You must have a passion to drive our performance, paying attention to the service that we deliver to all our customers.

Experience

  • 1-2 years minimum in the waste industry (Essential)
  • Experience with Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, word etc)
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and often out of a routine as the role is very reactive to our customer needs
  • Able to react quickly to information, helping solve any challenges efficiently
  • Able to work as part of a team and alone where needed

Working Hours /Schedule

Monday – Friday 7am to 6pm & Every other Saturday 7am to 1pm

Salary

Between £13.75 to £15.00 per hour depending on experience
